Braeden – GM/Kryn Dar
Ethan – Tazzok
Joe – Monzungu
Daniel – Sombra-Unavailable
When we last left our heroes they had just purchased a BT-7 Thunderclap special ops ship, naming it The Light’s Vanguard. While we were outfitting the ship and securing various items we would need for the mission, we were approached by Monzungu a Gungan soldier. He is Tazzok’s partner at systech corporations. Monzungu informs Tazzok that they both have lost their jobs on account of failing to protect the tower. He then asks if he could travel with us seeing as he has no family and now no job on Coruscant. We allow him.
Within an hour we are ready to depart. Sombra, being a trained pilot, and Kryn, having a Jedi’s reflexes, take the seats of pilot and co-pilot. Monzungu, being a soldier, takes the seat of weapons specialist, and Tazzok, being a trained mechanic, takes the seat of engineer.
We take off. The group, lacking confidence in their powers decide to head to Kashyyyk to train. We make the jump to hyperspace successfully, but halfway through the hyperdrive fails on us. Not a problem however for Tazzok uses his handy, dandy tool belt to fix it and we are on our way. Upon arrival at Kashyyyk we pay a docking fee and ask to be allowed to go into the Shadowlands. The chieftain was reluctant to allow us into the shadowlands, but eventually allowed us after a little convincing.
Always eager to discover new things Tazzok looks around the village while Kryn and Monzungu prepare for the decent into the Shadowlands. Sombra decides to stay behind and watch the ship for fear of thievery. Kryn assures him that we have nothing to fear from the wookies, but he stays nonetheless.
So Kryn, Tazzok and Monzungu desend into the Shadowlands on the planets surface. It is pitch black on the surface. Tazzok being a Trandosan needs no light but Kryn and Monzungu do and light two glow rods. About 5 minutes after leaving the lift, already out of sight, we are ambushed by what appear to be giant bats. Kryn recognizes them as Mykal, a native winged hunter. They are as large as a grown wookie’s chest with leathery skin and sharp talons. A group of 4 swoop down upon us from behind 1 on each and 2 on the Jedi. After a quick fight we manage to kill 2 of them when the other 2 flee. We continue on our way when we come to a small grove. Searching about Monzungu finds a cave entrance concealed by vines. As a group, we push our way through the vines and into the cave. Once inside we discover that it seems as if the cave was dug out rather than natural. Unperturbed we continue on. Later it branches off, to the left it spirals upwards, the right, downwards. Boldly, we pick the right tunnel. Eventually we find ourselves in the main chamber surrounded by three legged beasts hungering for our flesh. They are Forest Kinrath and this is their nest. Battle ensues. After fighting them to the last we find the eggs. Kryn using his knowledge of Kinrath tells the two that Kinrath are attracted to light and heat. Monzungu and Tazzok are confused for there is no light and heat in this place. Kryn reveals that lightsaber crystals give off a slight glow and heat of their own and that they form in caves such as this, strong in the force. He explains that the mother Kinrath swallow the crystals and they eventually are put within the egg, incubating the babies. Looking around at the dozens of Kinrath eggs, they decide to break the eggs open to find the crystals. After all, no one will miss these few Kinrath. We find several crystals including: 2 green, 2 blue, 1 yellow, 1 orange, 2 red, 5 modifying, and 2 focusing crystals.
Here we shall conclude the second meeting.
